Dear friends, family and members of the Double Spear family,
Andrew and I would like to thank every body for the cards, the well wishes and generous gifts to our wedding.
We especially want to thank all the folks that traveled half around the globe to join us on our special day;
You made it even more special.
And our greatest ‘thank you’ goes to Tony and his family, who generously took in most of the wedding guests and hosted the wedding reception at the ranch.
It meant a lot to me to celebrate with our friends and families at the place that has been my home and my life for the past 7 years.
And as it was a celebration of new beginnings for Andrew and I, it also is a new beginning for the Double Spear Ranch.
I am very grateful for the countless memories and experiences, for all the great people I got to meet and the unique lifestyle I was able to enjoy.
I will always look back at those years as one of my greatest adventures and achievements.
It is time for me to move on with my life, make time and room for my husband and to make space for new faces at the ranch.

And this is not a ‘good bye’ to the Double Spear or its people…
As we are buying some land from Tony to bring ground under our house and home, we will be neighbors and friends – now and in the future.

Our door and our heart will always be open to welcome you – our friends- in our humble little house on the prairie!
So…. Thanks again to everyone

Yours Andrew and Andrea /Shorty

SEVEN YEARS AGO ...

... I received an email from Andrea Wilcke. She wanted to come work at the ranch. She did just that and left in the fall. March the following spring saw her at the ranch again and starting her new life as it has been for the last seven years on the Double Spear. During that time many of our friends and guests have grown to know her and love her for all the talent and heart that she exhibits in her every day. “I can go any where and do anything I want in my life...I have no ties) she stated this, smiling to me when she first arrived. And it’s been a lie ever since…;))) she has grown roots here by virtue of the work and dedication with which she has left her mark on so many aspects of this ranch and all who live here. She wanted to build a cabin and so we had an old fashioned “barn raising” and now she lives in it. Her mark is permanent and we enjoy that part of her. Shorty has carved her home out of uncertainty and now faith has given something back to her that she loves and cherishes… a home with roots and good people to help make them grow.

Shorty is like a daughter to me and has been with me thru a lot of hard and exciting times. It has been very rewarding to watch the young girl turn into a more mature, confident and knowledgeable woman. And… she met Andrew Bushman…she’s grown long hair. Sometimes she is not worth a tinkers dam when he is any where around;)))) god I love to tease her about that puppy love and… Andy is a good man.

The tall and the skinny of the whole situation is that there is a wedding coming up and the plans are to live on the ranch and build onto the already new cabin Shorty lives in. The kids are buying 80 acres from the ranch and starting to build their home together here in Pryor USA…;))))

There is no way I can say how I feel about Shortness… I love her. I wish her and Andrew all the happiness and good fortune life can possibly muster. God and friends will be with them on June 30 this summer. There and then her brother Gerhard will give her into the hands and care of Andrew forever.
